In today's tutorial video, I wanted to share the differences between ballpoint pens and fineliners and how I use both. I love using ballpoints for realistic drawings since you can get smooth gradients and control how light or dark your lines are just by pressing harder or softer. Fineliners are great for more stylized, bold drawings using cross-hatching and clean line work.

In the video, I'll share my favorite pens in each category, demo how to make gradients, and do a portrait sketch in two different styles to show the range of drawings you can get.

Both tools have their own vibe and it's fun to play around with what each one does best!
